Having provided safe drinking water in over 100 villages, building community halls for them to get together, encouraging the kids of the villages to join schools, providing timely medical aids, empowering the villager youth about what they are entitled to from the government, getting the government to lay roads and Street lighting, educating them on relationships and meditation- these were some of the developmental activities taken up in more than 100 villages.
Krishnaji has now raised the bar. Gandhi Puram and Santosh puram, the two down trodden villages belonging to the lowest rung of the Indian society in terms of caste have been chosen to become the model villages for the area. It is Krishnaji’s vision that these villagers who have been timid and resigned to their lot that is given to them by society for ages must rise. These villages are now set to have their own community halls for celebrations and get togethers, education into organic agriculture and support, their own shop and dairy. They will become spaces of beauty in the coming months and years. They will be made economically self sufficient, spiritually alive and leap out of centuries of descrimination they have endured. Krishnaji’s vision is to end caste discrimination without talking about it.
Yesterday was a day of celebration for all the villagers of these two villages. Krishnaji laid the foundations for the community halls in these villages and made the entire village participate in the sacred ceremonies. The entire ritual was performed by a conventional Brahmin priest, which has never happened in these villages. A new vision fills these villagers for a greater future for their coming generations.
The O&O Academy participants were a witness to this heart warming occasion.
