Other Social Initiatives
The “100 Villages Project” founded in 1999 develops spiritual awakening in schools.
A project of building toilets for girls in government schools came to be after discussions with the panchayats in Varadiahpalem, Satyavedu and Tada Mandals of Andhra Pradesh State. Most girls from under privileged sections of society stop going to school after puberty because of lack of toilet facilities. Krishnaji and Preethaji are working to remedy this.
Krishnaji has also taken up the creation of an Institute for free vocational training for adolescents from low economic backgrounds. These certified courses will allow young people to be employed and become the breadwinners of the family.
Krishnaji and Preethaji through the OWA Foundation support an orphanage called Udavum Karangal, a home for more than 3,000 residents. The Foundation conducts programs for the children to heal emotionally and experience happiness.
The Foundation provides a regular supply of food for the residents of the orphanage and has also taken up the mission of supporting the education and upkeep of more than 100 children.
To bring an awareness of the sacred connection between nature and humanity, Krishnaji and Preethaji have initiated ‘tiger diaries’, a wild life project.
